Jimmy Mendoza 
April 24, 1929 - November 10, 2005 

Visitation for Jimmy Mendoza will be held at Basham Funeral Care (3312 Niles 
Street) on Tuesday, November 15, 2005 from 5:00-9:00 p.m. with an evening 
service beginning at 7:00 p.m. Jimmy was born April 24, 1929 in Ozuna, Texas 
and he passed away November 10, 2005 in Bakersfield, California with his 
family by his side. Jimmy is preceded in death by his parents, Santiago and 
Eluteria Mendoza; sisters, Anita Herrera, Dolores Ochoa and Delfina Burciaga; 
brother, Gregorio Mendoza; daughter, Yolanda Rodriguez and great-
granddaughter, Claire Simpson. He is survived by his sisters, Teresa Lopez and 
Ofelia Flores; daughter and son-in-law, Ema and Elizer Vasquez; daughter and 
son-in-law, Amelia and Jorge Gandarilla; daughter, Angela Mireles; daughter, 
Carmelita Zendejas; eight grandchildren; numerous great- grandchildren as well 
as many nieces and nephews. Jimmy lived a happy and carefree life all of his 
years in Bakersfield. Seventeen of those last years he resided and was cared 
for by his daughter, Ema Vasquez and family. Jimmy enjoyed spending time with 
his daughters and grandchildren. One of his last fulfilling dreams was going 
on a cruise to Mexico with his daughters where he had the time of life! He 
will be deeply missed after losing his battle with cancer, but Jimmy is 
finally at rest. The family would like to express a special thank you to all 
the family and friends, the staff of Optimal Hospice and Basham Funeral Care
