Bob Darrell Mercer

Services: Wed., Feb. 15, 3:00 p.m. 

A celebration of life for Bob Darrell Mercer will be held in the Basham 
Funeral Care Chapel (3312 Niles Street) on Wednesday afternoon, February 15, 
2006 at 3:00 p.m. Chaplain Jim Williams of Optimal Hospice will officiate. Bob 
was born in Bakersfield on May 9, 1935 and he passed away February 8, 2006 in 
Bakersfield with his family by his side. Bob is preceded in death by his 
parents, Leonard and Lettie Mercer; son, Tim Mercer and grandson, Andy Mercer. 
He is survived by his wife, Rebecca Mercer; children, Pam and Tim Sullivan, 
Don and Kathy Mercer, John and Denise Mercer, Darlene and Nicole Sharp, Jack 
Sharp II and Rowena Sharp; brother and sister-in-law, Don and Carolyn Mercer; 
13 grandchildren; 4 great grandchildren. The joy of Bob's life was his family 
and traveling between here and Oregon to visit with them. His final days were 
spent with his two sons and their families from Oregon, his family here in 
Bakersfield and his beloved cat Prissy before losing the battle with colon 
cancer. He was loved by all that knew him and he will be deeply missed. For
