He is survived by his parents, Lydia and Alfred Mesa; sister and brother-in-law, Vanessa and David Allen; sister and brother-in-law, Natasha Mesa and Henry Perez; sister, Ashley Mesa; brother, Maverick Mesa; nieces, Devine and Faith Herrera and Hope Allen; nephews, Richard Herrera, Noah and Henry Perez Jr.; paternal grandmother, Frances Mesa; maternal grandparents, Ignacio and Josefina Servin; special uncle, Ralph Mesa Jr.; numerous other uncles, aunts, cousins and many friends. Chris was truly a gift to all of us from God. Like most great things, his time with us seemed far too short. God's word says in everything give thanks, for this is God's will for you in Christ Jesus (1 Th 5:18). So we give thanks for the time we did have and celebrate his life and the memories he left us with. Chris will be remembered as a young man who had a giant's heart and an angel's smile. His embrace was a place of comfort and safety and his love was never ending. He had the gift of forgiveness. He tried to be a man after God's own heart and he now takes refuge by his side in heaven. We take comfort in knowing that we will be reunited one day. If Chris could send down a message, this is what he would say to each of you. "Remember who you are in Christ. You are royalty. You are children of the King and I love you." "Come, you who are blessed by my Father; take your inheritance, the kingdom prepared for you." (Matthew 25:34).
