She was born 4-22-13 in Terrell, TX. She moved to Bakersfield as a young girl around 1921. While attending Bakersfield High School she worked part time at Mrs. Hood's Boarding House where she met an oil field worker by the name of Lecil (Jack) Minton. They married in 1929 and lived in various towns around the California Oil Fields such as Coalinga, Taft, Long Beach and Hanford, but always returning to Bakersfield and calling it their home. They had 3 children, Jackie Vernon, dec'd; Betty Jo of Molalla Oregon and Lecil Gene, dec'd. She babysat for a number of years for Heritage Bible Church of Bakersfield. She moved to Molalla in 1999 to live with her daughter, 6 grandchildren, 11 great-grandchildren and 1 great-great-grandchild. She enjoyed crafts, sewing, her grandchildren, family campouts and her dog Tillie. She will be laid to rest Wednesday, December 21, 10 a.m., in Hillcrest Cemetery, Bakersfield.
