In 1946 the family came to California. They worked in the central valley. While living on Beale Avenue, near Jefferson Park, Mom, and Pop met, married, and began their own family. Blessed with 9 children, 7 boys, then 2 girls. They worked tirelessly raising us. We would follow Pop in the construction industry throughout California, but always returned home to Bakersfield. As the family grew, so did the house. Filled with love, Clara wouldnt turn any of our friends away in their time of need. Always keeping us in clean clothes. Cooking the best meals, with those wonderful tortillas. She kept us in school, and always taught us respect for others, and ourselves. Sadly we lost our baby sister Lyna to a heart defect, so Mom, and Pop took on the task of raising her daughter, Andrea. Later, Mom had a debilitating stroke, and other health problems that she battled with until her body could do no more. During all her failing health, her mind, and wit remained sharp. Mom remembered everyone, and everything. From all the children she raised, we love you Mom. Her parents Merced, and Henrietta Ramirez, her sister, Chona Ortiz, and Moms daughter, Lyna Monsibais preceded mom in death. All our Aunts, and Uncles will miss her greatly. Clara is survived by Pop her husband of 55 years, Isaac O. Monsibais Sr. Eight children and their spouses, Isaac Jr. and Nancy, Fred and Maria, Gilbert and Alice, Manuel and Corinne, George and Lisa, Jerry and Sherry, Roy and Arlene, Renee and Donta Stencil, and Andrea. At last count Clara had 26 Grandchildren, and 40 Great Grandchildren. Mom, and Pops Genes are still with us all. Clara is also survived by 6 brothers, and sisters; Amancia Lopez of Texas, Aggie and Fidel Castro, Ophelia and Frank Rodriguez, Gracie and Mundo Gamez, Lupe Prendez, Mike and Ramona, and Fred Ramirez, all of Bakersfield CA.
