Keith was born October 11, 1922, in Omega, Kansas. A graduate of Melvern H.S., he enlisted in the U.S. Marine Corps February 11, 1943. Receiving two Purple Hearts for wounds received while serving his country, he was honorably discharged July 19, 1945. After obtaining his journeymans license, he worked as a commercial plumber in Los Angeles for over 20 years, superintending jobs such as the Arco Towers and the first 747 hanger at LAX and Long Beach. In 1976, he earned his General Contractors License and moved to Bakersfield. Going into business with his son, they built many homes in the Rio Bravo, Kern City and the Greater Bakersfield area. A devoted husband, loving father, and a friend to all, he leaves behind a heritage of integrity, loyalty and honor. He will be greatly missed by his wife of 61 years, Frances of Bakersfield, CA; his son, Keith and wife, Shari of Bakersfield, CA; his son, Darrell and wife, Jane of Warsaw, Missouri; his son, Larry and wife, MaryAnn of Yucca Valley, CA; his sister, Viola of Colorado Springs, CO; 6 grandchildren, 9 great- grandchildren and 2 great-great-grandchildren.
