California Avenue, and interment will follow at Union Cemetery. Henry was born in East Los Angeles, California, on July 15, 1924, and has been a resident of Kern County since 1937, when the family moved to Arvin. Henry (known as Hank) attended Arvin elementary schools and Arvin High School. Henry joined the military in 1942 and was a well decorated soldier, serving with 82nd Airborne Division (Army) during World War II and the 101st Airborne Division during the Korean War. Henry was married to Natalia Garcia in 1962, and they moved to Bakersfield and had five children. He worked as a farm laborer for many years, then in 1971 he was employed by the Stockdale Country Club as a greens-keeper until he retired in 1992. He continued as a part-time gardener until 1995 when he became ill. Now he has gone to join his loved ones in Heaven. May he rest in peace. Henry is preceded in death by his son, Henry Paul Marrufo; parents, Silvestre and Godoleva Marrufo; brothers, Irineo, Paul, John, and Arthur Marrufo; sister, Margaret Hernandez; and granddaughter, Vanessa Marrufo. He is survived by his loving wife of 43 years, Natalia; daughters, Elizabeth and husband, Abel Briseno, and Rebecca Marrufo; sons, Felix and Angel Marrufo; stepchildren, Mary Garcia, Louie, Robert, and Lupe Luna; brother, Tommy and wife, Adilina Marrufo; sister, Lupe and husband, Martin Rosales; sisters-in- law, Lucy and Elsie Marrufo; brother-in-law, Leo Hernandez; grandchildren, Abel Jr., Edgar, Luis, Paul, Anthony, Anabel and husband, Ubaldo Ramos, Christopher Holquin, Felix Jr., Savannah Gabril, Carlos, Sonia, Johnny, Nano, Jose Jr., and Hector; great granddaughter, Briana Guadalupe Ramos; and many family and friends. Henry 'Hank' Marrufo will always be remembered as a hero to his country and mentor to his family and friends.
