"Bill" 1922 - 2005 E.A. (Bill) Martin April 7, 1922 - July 8, 2005 Everett A. Bill Martin (83) of Wasco, California died peacefully at home surrounded by his children on Friday, July 8, 2005. Graveside services will be held Monday, July 11, 2005, 10:00 a.m., at Wasco Memorial Park. Bill was born April 7, 1922, in Hardy, Arkansas. He was raised and educated there until joining the Army Air Corp. During World War II Bill fought in New Guinea and upon returning to the U.S. was sent to Minter Field in Shafter, CA to finish his enlistment period. It was at Minter Field that he met his future wife, Barbara Scaroni and spent the rest of his adult life raising his family and being a businessman in Wasco, CA. Bill owned and operated Martins, an electrical and air conditioning and appliance business for 25 years. It was a prominent fixture on Main Street in Wasco during the 50s through 70s. After retiring from Martins Bill became a real estate broker for another 15 years. Bills greatest pleasures came from operating a successful business, communicating with people, helping his family, cooking, and training his beloved border collie B.T.. Bill will be fondly remembered for his willingness to listen to problems of others, the ability to suggest common sense solutions and all of the fantastic meals he prepared for family and friends. His kindness and practical approach to life will be greatly missed. Bill was preceded in death by his parents, Everett and Nanny Martin; sister, Joy Dunnow; brother, Charles Martin; wife, Barbara Martin and an infant son, John Reid Martin who died in 1948. Bill is survived by his sister and brother-in- law, Geneva and Eugene Richardson of Hanford, CA; his brother and sister-in- law, John and Lila Martin of Ocean Springs, MS; a daughter and son-in-law, Marsha and Dave Lose of Sebastopol, CA; a son, Marshal Martin of Wasco; a son and daughter-in-law, John Harold and Sandy Martin of Wasco; and four grandsons, Chris Lose of Las Vegas, NV; Marshal Lose of Forestville, CA; John Henry Martin of Alameda, CA and Jeffrey Martin of San Luis Obispo, CA.
