Bruce Walter McDanel Sr.
Services: Thurs., Apr. 14, 3:00 p.m.

Services will be held at the University Baptist Church, 2515 Church Ave., for 
Bruce Walter McDanel, Sr., 75, who passed away April 9, 2005. Pastor Chris 
Bennett will officiate. 

Mr. McDanel was born on November 22, 1929, in Bakersfield. He had worked as a 
custodian and substitute teacher for 33 years, last employed at Bakersfield 
College. He had a passion for teaching, especially elementary grades. He loved 
to read books written by Schuller, Peale, and Grisham. Bruce also liked his 
gadgets or electronic toys. He was Past Master of the Caledonia Masonic Lodge 
#486 F.&A.M. of Bakersfield for 30 years and charter and active member of the 
University Baptist Church until his death.

Mr. McDanel was preceded in death by his wife of 46 years, Della Claire 
McDanel, parents, Lloyd and Vera McDanel and brother and sister-in-law Eugene 
and Betty McDanel. Survivors include his son and daughter-in-law, Bruce and 
Belinda McDanel Jr; grandson, Benjamin McDanel; granddaughter, Briana McDanel 
all of Fresno; brother and sister-in-law, Elden and Terri McDanel of 
Bakersfield; three nephews; two nieces; many great-nephews and great-nieces 
and special friends, Joe Newton and Gerald Mack McGuire and many lifelong 
friends.

Visitation begins Wednesday, 3-9 p. m.
