Myrna M. Chitty

April 15, 1928 – Sept. 1, 2005

Myrna M. Chitty, 77, passed away in Tehachapi on Sept. 1. Myrna moved to 
Tehachapi two years ago from the Napa area, where she had resided for almost 
25 years.

Myrna was born to Clarence and Madeline McLatchie on April 15, 1928, in Ogden, 
Utah. 

Professionally, Myrna was a well-respected executive secretary at the Napa 
State Hospital for 20 years. She was also a talented oil painter and 
especially enjoyed the beautiful Napa Valley where she lived. 

Myrna was a lady of strong faith who was a member of the LDS church in St. 
Helena. She will long be remembered as a devoted mother and grandmother.

Myrna is survived by her sons, Bruce Chitty and wife Dena of Bear Valley 
Springs and Garth Chitty of Tucson, Ariz.; daughter, Lauren Emminger of San 
Anselmo; three grandchildren; and brother, Eldon McLatchie of Ogden, Utah. She 
was preceded in death by her sisters, Fay Canova and Carol Jones.

A funeral service will be held at Morrison Funeral Chapel in St. Helena on 
Saturday, Sept. 10 at 10:30 a.m., with interment following at St. Helena 
Cemetery.

Wood Family Funeral Service handled the local arrangements.
