He was a graduate of Taft High and Taft College. Floyd joined the Army in 1954 and served his country for two years. After leaving the military, he went to work for Pacific Gas & Electric in 1956 and moved with his family to Bakersfield in 1962. Floyd retired from PG&E in 1992 after 36 years. Floyd met the love of his life and married his high school sweetheart, Joanna, on August 16, 1953, at the First Baptist Church in Taft, California. Floyd was a member of Chester Avenue Community Church for over forty years. His passions in life were his family, his love of hunting, fishing, and of golfing. He was also involved in coaching of Little League Baseball for many years, as well as any and all events that involved his children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. Floyd was preceded in death by his parents and his brother, Charles Chuck McLean of Boise, Idaho. He is survived by his wife, Joanna; his son, Don and wife, Michelle; daughter, Julie Tonneslan and husband, Kevin; son, Ronnie and wife, Carol; granddaughters, Belinda Elliott and husband, Michael, Elisabeth Herrera and husband, Michael, Nicol McLean and Heather and Chelsea Tonneslan; grandson, Nicholas McLean; and great-grandchildren, Aidan and Liam Elliott and Isabella Herrera. Floyd is also survived by his sister, Ruth Ehret of Tehachapi and family; sisters-in- law, Dana Denio and family, and Ruth McLean; brothers-in-law, Steven Hillhouse and Allan Fox and family, and numerous extended family members. Floyd was a man who faithfully loved and served his Lord, his family, and his church. His greatest desire would be for all to come to know his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, to come into a personal relationship with Him, and to walk with Him daily as he did. Although we are sad but for a moment, our hearts rejoice at the thought of our Saviors words to our husband, father, and brotherWell done, my good and faithful servant. We are looking forward with joy to the day when we shall all be together once again.
