Father Craig Harrison will officiate. John was born on August 26, 1928 in Northampton, Pennsylvania, and he passed away on Friday, March 11, 2005, in Bakersfield, California, with his family by his side. John is preceded in death by his parents, Frank and Gisela Miksits; son, John Francis Miksits; brothers, Alfred Miksits and Andrew Wallusch. He is survived by his wife, Ethel Miksits; son, Siegfried Miksits; daughters, Helen Miksits- Chisholm, Ann Vierra, and Leslie Miksits; daughter-in-law, Doreen Young- Miksits; brother, Frank Miksits; sisters, Stella Eberhardt and Helen T. Miksits; seven grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews. John attended St. Peters Parochial School in Coplay, PA. He graduated from Allentown Central Catholic High School in Allentown, PA, and from the University of California, Berkeley. He served our country in the United States Army as a paratrooper in the 82nd Airborne Division. John was self-employed in the insurance business for over 50 years. He was a member of the Kern County Life Underwriters, the Navy League, Stockdale Country Club, and the Godfathers Coffee Club. He was loved by all who knew him and he will be deeply missed.
