Our beloved mother was born on March 27, 1916 in Dennis, Texas and celebrated her 89th birthday on Easter Sunday. Eula V was the youngest of 12 children, all who preceded her in death. Eula V spent her childhood in the Weatherford, Texas and met her husband, John Haskell there. In the 1940's John and Eula V Moved to Pasadena, California and eventually settled in Porterville where they lived for 37 years. John and Eula V built and operated several gas stations and owned Montgomery trucking. Upon retiring from the trucking business in 1982, they moved to Bakersfield. They joined the Bakersfield Sundowners Travel Club and enjoyed many trips throughout their retirement years with all their new friends. Eula V was preceded in death by her husband of 59 years. She is survived by her three sons and daughters-in-law, Harold and Linda Montgomery of Bakersfield, Ron and Laura Montgomery of Las Vegas, Nevada and Gary and Jan Montgomery of Pahrump, Nevada; 11 grandchildren, and 16 great grandchildren. She is also survived by her sister-in-law, Cloveilla Parker of Santa Barbara and numerous nieces, nephews and friends. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donation be sent to the American Cancer Society. The family would like to express their appreciation to all who sent their prayers and best wishes during this difficult time. We would also like to express our deep gratitude to Dr. Donald Loos who showed such compassion to our family and to the nurses at Memorial Hospital for their excellent care. We also thank her special friends, Dorothy Dean and Sharon Diedrich for the love and companionship.
