Steve was born March 6, 1926, in Windber, PA, and has been a resident of Kern County for the past 50 years. He served in the Navy during WWII and is a member of the VFW Past Commanders Club, VFW Post 7216, Retired Public Employees Assn., American Legion Post 26 and a life member of the National Rifle Association. He last worked for Cal Trans Road Construction. Survivors include his son, Stephen Nahorniak and daughter, Kristen Spears; sisters, Mary Mills, Paula Mulock and Patricia Gemus, all of Bakersfield, and Betty Cocco of New Jersey and 6 grandchildren.
