Ted was born on February 4, 1915, in Korbel, CA. He grew up in Northern California where as a young boy, he worked in the logging industry with his brothers. He joined the Army and served in the 3rd Army Battalion in Europe as a medic and ambulance driver during WWII. In 1945, Ted married Mamie and they celebrated 57 years together in December 2001. Ted loved to go fishing and hunting. He and Mamie were avid square dancers and they were founding members of the Maverick Squares in Bakersfield. He worked at Sunland Refining until his retirement. Ted loved to travel in his trailer and the last few years enjoyed many adventures traveling. Ted was preceded in death by his wife, Mamie; his parents, Herbert Noel, Leola and Charles Cross; brothers, Meritt, Archie and Herbie Noel. He is survived by his son and daughter-in-law, Fred and Carol Noel; daughter, Susie Noel-Riccomini; grandchildren, Kelci Riccomini, Janet Morrison, Marvin and Kim Morrison; great-grandchildren, Robin and Casey Branch; brother-in-law, Hughey Young; sister-in-law, Marian Roderick; many nieces and nephews; special nieces and nephews, Norma and Danny Luna, Janet and John Drescher, Carolyn Jones, Betty Powell, Terry Young; and best friends, John and Isabelle Webb. The family wishes to extend their sincerest thanks and deepest gratitude to Andrea DeWitt from Optimal Hospice for all the kindness and compassion she gave to Ted and his family. And to everyone at the Shafter Convalescent Hospital whose excellent medical care and kindness made Teds final days more comfortable. In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial donations to Optimal Hospice. Visitation begins Sunday, from 10:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. at Doughty-Calhoun- OMeara.
