Mass of the Christian Burial will be held at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church on Thursday, August 25, 2005 at 10:30 a.m. Interment will follow at Union Cemetery. Steven P. Nieto, Jr. was born in Bakersfield, California to Steven P. and Mary L. Nieto, Sr. on December 3, 1965 and he went home to be with the Lord on August 19, 2005 in Las Vegas, Nevada. Steven was preceded death by 2 sisters, Christina and Yvonne Marie Nieto; his maternal grandfather, Sylvester Quirino and paternal grandparents, Emerenciano and Petra Nieto. He is survived by his parents, Steven and Mary Nieto, Sr.; Kathy Nieto; son, Philip Michael Nieto; brothers and sisters-in-law, Gary Anthony and Erica Nieto and Carl Christopher and Patricia Nieto; nieces and nephews, Alexis, Merisa, Joshua, Leah, and Natalie; maternal grandmother, Luisa Quirino; special friend, Eartha Bolen; and numerous other family members and many friends. Steven graduated from Foothill High School in 1984. He was competitive in wrestling and football during high school and college. While attending Bakersfield College he majored in Photography; another hobby which he enjoyed. He loved music and his passion was being a D.J.. Hard Rock, Reggae and Rap were among his favorite music. He was an Optometrist Technician for 5 years, working for Dr. Ratty in Bakersfield. He was loved by all that knew him and he will be deeply missed. Pallbearers will be Oscar Villalobos, Ernie Contreras, Henry Sanchez Jr., Chris Silva, Leonard Lostaunau and Tony Hernandez Jr. Honorary Pallbearers are Victor Lostaunau and David Aguilar.
