She enjoyed teaching second grade primarily at Noble Elementary School. Jean Ann was recognized and awarded as an Outstanding Teacher Of The Year by the California State Superintendent of Schools and was elected by her peers into the mentoring program where she taught other teachers. Jean Ann was a kind and caring mother and daughter as well as a beloved friend and colleague. She greatly enjoyed reading (especially the Laura Ingalls Wilder series of books and Calvin & Hobbs), spending time with family and friends, regular visits to the central coast and dearly loved her pet dogs, George and Timothy. She was a member of First Presbyterian Church, Bakersfield. After retirement, she found a great deal of enjoyment singing with the Goldenaires. The family would like to give special thanks to Harinder and Anatalia Salon and staff, of H&A Guest Home, for all their heartfelt care. She was loved by all that knew her and she will be greatly missed. Published in the Bakersfield Californian on 7/7/2005.
