Pisar May 11, 1924 - November 9, 2005 Bea was born in North Dakota to Axel and Grace Olson. She grew up working on the family farm with her eight brothers and sisters and later graduated from University of North Dakota with a degree in Geology. Bea moved west after college and found her niche working as an engineer for the County of Kern. Bea was a lifelong lover of travel. She spent a summer during college working at Yellowstone and returned there later in life with her husband, Maury. Bea and Maury traveled the U.S. in their RV, often bringing along their granddaughters. After Maurys death, Bea continued her travels around the world with friends and family. Ireland and New Zealand were two of her favorites. Bea enjoyed needlepoint, doll making, square dancing and entertaining. Bea was a fabulous baker and there was never a Christmas holiday that went without her cookies and krumkaker. Bea was predeceased by her husband, Maury Pisar. She is survived by her children and their spouses, Geoff Nicholson, Gwen and Frank Gonzales and Greg and Karen Nicholson. She also leaves behind to honor her memory her granddaughters, Monica Martinez, Michelle Martinez, Lisa Nicholson and Breanne Nicholson; and her brother, Reuben Olson and sister, Marge Bartelson. Bea will be remembered fondly by a multitude of family and friends. Graveside services will be held at 11:00 a.m., on Tuesday, November 15, 2005, at Greenlawn Southwest Mortuary. Visitation will be held Monday, November 14, 2005, from noon to 9:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the American Parkinsons Disease Foundation Kern County Chapter or the charity of your choice.
