James was raised and educated in Springfield, Missouri and was the oldest of eight children. In 1931, James took his first flight and later became an airport officer during WWII and was involved with the training of military pilots. James wore numerous hats in the industrial world. From 1950 1963 James held the title of Leader of Operations & Maintenance, and was also in charge of heavy construction for 14 power stations for the Metropolitan Transit Authority in Los Angeles, CA. James later became the head engineer for the TRD System, and American Bakeries. During this time James was a full member of the American Institute of Plant Engineers and also owned ONeals Industrial Services in El Monte, CA. In El Monte, CA, James met and married the love of his life, Virginia Simpson, together they raised Virginias son and daughter, Carl Simpson and Elaine Simpson. After many glorious years together, Virginia passed away in 1993 in Apple Valley, CA where they had built a beautiful home and socialized with their many friends in the aeronautic field at the local airport. On March 7, 1991, James and Virginia met Victoria Louie and family in Bakersfield, CA. Victoria, Victor, Michael Stephanie, and Kevin, later became Jamess and Virginias Accepted Family. After Virginias death he moved to Bakersfield to live with his accepted family. He is survived by his brothers, Louis and Jack ONeal; sisters, Dorothy Steffensen and Betty Groves; daughter, Nancy Daniels; grandson, Brian Daniels; stepson, Carl Simpson; granddaughter, Pam Sagardia and a host of other family and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents and his brothers, Frank ONeal, Emmit ONeal and sister, Peggy Trumbo. The Louie family would like to give Special Thanks to the following people: Sharon, Nancy and his baby girl, Gladys. Visitation will be held at Hillcrest Memorial Park, on Thursday, August 11, 2005, from 4-8 p.m. and service will be held on Friday, August 12, 2005, at 9:00 a.m. The family requests in lieu of flowers, donations to be made in his name to Hoffmann Hospice.
