A graveside service will be held Tuesday, August 30, 2005, 9:00 a.m., at Greenlawn Southwest Memorial Park. Pastor David T. Goh, Senior Pastor of Bakersfield Community Church will officiate. Tommy was born in Missouri, and he passed away on August 24, 2005 in Bakersfield, California. Tommy retired from Frito Lay after 20 years of service as a route salesman. His outgoing personality endeared him to many. Tommy was a member of Bakersfield Community Church over 30 years, having a loving relationship with founding Pastor, Harry Goh, Senior Pastor, David Goh, and Pastors Pep Robey, and Rob Allison. He had a close relationship with the Elders and church family of Bakersfield Community Church. Tommy was an avid golfer. He had two long- time friends and golfing buddies: Max Cross and Gerald McGuire. Survivors include his wife, of almost 50 years, Pauline Orton; his son, Kevin Orton, wife, Vickie, their son, Jonathon, his children, Crysta-Rain and Galleon Orton and their mother, Tara; Kevins daughter, Elizabeth Orton, husband, Carl, and their children Dempsey and Jory Duvall; son, Keith Orton, his wife Beth, and their children, Rick, Nick and Hillary Orton; daughter, Karen Hook, her husband, Timothy and their children Samuel and Josiah Hook; special sister-in- law, Sharon Crider, her daughter Melissa, and her granddaughter to-be Micaela; three brothers-in-law, Veachel Geer, always helpful, Raymond Geer, generous heart, J.D. Geer, a good friend. Many nephews including Johnny Geer, Patrick Geer, Launie, Lynie and Devin Geer, numerous other nephews, nieces, great- nephews, and great-nieces; a special niece-in-law, Susan Biggs, her seven children, including Candy and Tenille (Geer). The joy of Tommys life was his children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. He was a great father and a wonderful Pa. The family thanks Dr. Bhambi, Dr. Bhardwaj, and Dr. Purewal and the Bakersfield Heart Hospital for their loving care. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Harvest House building fund in care of BCC Church, 2010 O Street, 93301.
