George was born on February 29, 1944 in Coalinga, CA to George Sr. and Virginia Pearce. The family moved to Bakersfield, where George attended East Bakersfield High and Bakersfield Junior College. During high school he learned to ride and rope at Greg Ward's training stable in Porterville and worked summers packing supplies on horseback into the high mountain camps for Yosemite Park and Curry Company. George attended Cal Poly, San Luis Obispo where he majored in animal husbandry and competed on the college rodeo team in calf roping, steer wrestling and team roping. While attending Cal Poly, he met and fell in love with Molly Martin. They were married in 1965 at the Presbyterian Rock Church on Marsh Street in San Luis Obispo. George and Molly made their first home near Arroyo Grande on Hwy 227. This home would be the first of many farms and ranches that they would move into, improve and sell. This was also where George started his lifelong career in cattle ranching and real estate. George and Molly had two children. Their first son Jim was born at Sierra Vista Hospital in San Luis Obispo. A couple years later their second son, Clint was born after the family moved to Roseburg, Oregon. The family moved back to California in the early seventies where George continued his career of ranching and real estate investing. In 1982 the family moved to Redmond, Oregon where George soon had a great group of friends from the local coffee shop. Where ever George lived or visited, he always was sure to find the best coffee shop in town, where all the locals would gather. Some of his best times, were spent drinking that early morning cup of coffee with his buddies, far and wide. In the early nineties George and Molly moved back to California to be closer to family. Loving the foothills of the Sierra's George found and purchased what would be their final home in Raymond, California. George was active in the farm bureau and enjoyed supporting the junior livestock auction at the Mariposa County Fair. George also became quite a golfer, sharing the sport with his friend and brother-in- law Gordon Baker. George was a loyal friend, caring son, nurturing father and loving husband. This was the life George loved. George is preceded in death by his mother, Virginia Sturdevant Pearce and father, George Pearce, Sr. George is survived by his wife of 40 years, Molly Martin Pearce; two sons, Jim Pearce, his wife, Constance who reside in Catheys Valley, and Jims daughter, Alexis; Clint Pearce, his wife, Connie and their children, Audrey and Dalton who reside in San Luis Obispo.
