George Francis Pearson 
Oct. 17, 1924 - Jan. 24, 2006 

George was born October 17, 1924 in South Dakota. He graduated from 
Porterville College and California State University, Bakersfield with Masters 
Degrees in Political Science and Human Behavior. After retirement, George 
continued to tutor English-as-a-second-language CSUB students because of his 
passion to teach those struggling with the English language. His many students 
will sorely miss him. His parents, Randall and Mary Pearson; two brothers, 
Rollie and Mickey Pearson; and his sister, Ila West, preceded George in death. 
He is survived by his wife, Joy, and two daughters, Jeanni Loven and Debbie 
Conley, and son-in-law, Dave Conley, all of Bakersfield; his brother, Larry 
Pearson, of Kansas; three grandchildren, Joy Scarborough of Palm Desert, David 
Conley II of Bakersfield, and Kely Bender of Henderson, Nevada; three great-
grandchildren, Jaron, Lauren and Brooke; and many family members & friends. In 
lieu of flowers, donations may be made to your favorite charity or institute 
of learning. There will be a private family gathering.
