Dorothy Joan Renick (Joann) 
May 15, 1941 - Dec. 22, 2005 

Graveside services will be held on Thursday, December 29, at 11:00 a.m. in 
Greenlawn Memorial Park, 3700 River Blvd., for Dorothy Joan Renick. Minister 
Randy Hilburn will officiate. Joann was born on May 15, 1941, in Kings City, 
CA to John and Opal Peterson. Joann attended Bakersfield High School where she 
met her husband David in mechanical drawing class. They married on December 
23rd, 1957 and moved to Tucson, AZ, where David was stationed in the Air 
Force. They later moved to Bakersfield in 1962 and had four children. Her 
hobbies included crafts and sewing. She was a homemaker and spent her whole 
life taking care of her family. She is survived by the love of her life, David 
L. Renick; her mother, Opal and her children and their spouses, Randy and wife 
Lisa, Diana Comstock, Steven and wife Kristel, Becky and husband Thomas 
Mowrey. She also leaves behind her brothers, Larry (Butch) Peterson, Wayne and 
wife, Barbara, and Philip and wife, Gale; 10 grandchildren; one great-
grandchild (with another on the way) and several nieces and nephews. She was 
preceded in death by her father and her best friend Susie Hogue. She passed 
away with her family by her side. The Renick family would like to thank the 
staff of Bakersfield Dialysis and all of the nurses on the 2nd floor of 
Memorial Hospital. She was a loving wife, mother and grandmother and will be 
missed very much. Visitation will be Wednesday, December 28, from 3:00 - 9:00 
p.m.
