She passed away in her sleep at home November 5, 2005 never complaining during a long and courageous struggle with a rare and incurable disease. Clodine attended St. Francis and St. Josephs elementary schools in Bakersfield, graduated from Taft Union High School and graduated from Cottage Hospital in Santa Barbara in 1958 as a registered nurse. She worked as a nurse for the next 39 years in various hospitals in the San Joaquin Valley. She worked the last 10 years of her nursing career at Bakersfield Memorial Hospital on the heart team of which she was very proud. She was a member of the California Nurses Association. Clodine will always be remembered for her loving, caring and creative ways. She loved painting and working in her rose garden. She is survived by her loving husband, Lee; her son and daughter-in- law, John and Judy Garrett and three grandchildren of Victorville, and her son Ron Garrett of Bakersfield, her sister and brother-in-law Maurine and Bill Ratekin of San Mateo, her sister Shirley Ann Nowland of Ventura, her uncle Bobby Peterson of Fresno, and her husbands children Leann Leonard, Brad Hudiburg, Kevin Hudiburg, Julie Hudson and all their spouses and children, and numerous cousins, nieces, nephews and loving friends. Clodines greatest joy was her grandchildren. She will be deeply missed by everyone who loved her. The family would like to thank Milt Cole of Riverlakes Church, the entire staff of Optimal Hospice, especially Anita Valenzuela for her tender loving care and all who were involved in caring for our beloved wife, mother and grandmother. Services will be held on Tuesday, November 15th, at 11:30 a.m., at RiverLakes Community Church, 4301 Calloway Drive, Bakersfield. Legacy.com Published in the Bakersfield Californian on 11/12/2005.
