"Ron" Ronald C. Polk (Ron) Sept. 4, 1933 - Jan. 31, 2006 On February 25, 2006, at 11:00 a.m., we will be at All Saints Episcopal Church, 3200 Gosford Road (832-8582), to give Ron a Heartfelt Celebration to life. After the Memorial lunch will be served. Ron is preceded in death by his parents, Ruth and Harvey Polk and brother, Donald Polk, also Rons nephew Michael Marshall. He is survived by his loving wife, Pat of 49 years and 9 months; daughters, Kim and husband, Richard Varley and children, Kevin and Kayla of Bakersfield. Ron dearly loved and cherished his grandchildren. Daughter, Teri and husband, Larry Haberkern of Bakersfield. Brother, Bruce and wife, Darlene of Phoenix, Arizona and Larry Polk of Visalia. He graduated from Delano High School in 1952 and then went to Bakersfield College where he played football; he was a "Junior College All American". After completing a tour of duty in the Army, he returned to Bakersfield College, where he met Pat and fell in love. He worked for Mohawk Petroleum that was later Texaco Refinery for 40 years. Ron was an avid sports enthusiast he went to most all of the Gades games along with his friends. Besides loving his football, he was a great tennis player. He also rode his bicycle, often riding to the coast with the American Lung Association. One of Ron's most enduring qualities was his zest for life. Ron was willing to help anyone who needed help even if he didn't know them. He always found good in everyone. He was indeed a unique man. Ron's wish was to be cremated. God has a new Angel.
