Betty was born October 23, 1926, in Eunice, Louisiana to Richard Stagg Parrott and Culberta Baker Parrott. She was one of six children. Her three older brothers and her parents have preceded her in death. Her younger brother and sister, Blair Parrott and Harriet Ardoin still live in Louisiana. She has many nieces and nephews still living in Louisiana. She met and married Eugene Cline in New Orleans in 1945, Eugene died in 1990. Their union produced two children; a son, Gregory and a daughter, Charlotte. Gregory died in an accident when he was age 35. Charlotte is married to Dennis Brantley and lives in Bakersfield, Ca. They have three children, two sons and a daughter. Montgomery and his wife, Lonelle have a daughter, Eden. Richard and Dallas have a son, Hunter and Cindy and Mike have a daughter, Mariah. She would want them to know how very much she loved them. Betty met Edwin Bennett in 1990 and married him in 1994. That was the happiest day in her life when she married her beloved Ed. He brought his own wonderful family into Bettys life. Ed has four children, Cathy and her husband, Carl, John and his wife, Kathie, Gary, Jim and his wife, Karen. Ed has five grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. Betty loved them as much as her own. During her life here in Bakersfield, Betty will be remembered for her first job as a Bakersfield City Hostess. Next, she managed a dental supply business for twenty years. She then sold real estate for several years. She was a longtime member of the American Business Womens Association and an equally longtime member of Bakersfield Republican Women. At the familys request, in lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Bettys memory to Hoffmann Hospice. No visitation is scheduled. Legacy.com Published in the Bakersfield Californian on 5/21/2005.
