Terry Philip Patterson 
May 12, 1937 - August 7, 2005 

Terry was born in Long Beach, California to Hardy Cecil Tex and Margaret 
Lanora Patterson on May 12, 1937. His family moved to Casa Loma in Bakersfield 
in 1944 where he attended Union Avenue Elementary and Golden State Junior High 
where he played in the band. Terry was in the class of 1955 at BHS and earned 
his GED in the military. He served in the United States Air Force for four 
years stationed in Hawaii. After his military service he spent the rest of his 
working years in the oil patch. In recent years he was a drilling consultant 
for several geothermal projects and on overseas platforms in the Persian Gulf, 
South China Sea, Aegean Sea and the North Sea. Terry was predeceased by his 
wife, Patricia Sue in 2002 and his father Tex in 1981. He is survived by his 
sons: Jim Patterson, Ron Pence and his wife, Julia and daughter, Carli, Rick 
Pence and his daughter, Patricia; mother, Margaret L. Patterson; sister and 
brother-in-law, Gaye and Bill Koepp; very special friend and cousin Bea 
Shipman. The family wishes to extend special thanks to Serena Traylor who made 
everyones life so much easier during Terrys last days. Cremation has taken 
place and internment will be at Hillcrest Memorial Park. No services will be 
held per Terrys wishes. Terry was a tender, loving soul who cherished his time 
with family and friends. He hoped all of his friends and loved ones would 
celebrate his life with joy and laughter while lifting a glass to him. Go in 
peace Dad, Son, Brother, Friend
