Oretha Powell
July 24, 1935 - March 21, 2005

A Funeral Service and Homegoing Celebration for Oretha Powell, 69 years old, 
of Bakersfield, CA will be held today, Saturday, March 26, 2005, 10:00 a.m. at 
Pleasant View Missionary Baptist Church, 700 S. Haley Street, with interment 
to immediately follow in Union Cemetery. 

Oretha leaves to cherish two sons, Chaves and John Kim of Bakersfield, CA; 
three daughters, Brenda and Norma of Bakersfield, CA and Geneva of 
Victorville, CA; ten grandchildren; twenty-two great-grandchildren; five 
sisters, Marie, Juanita and Armer of Bakersfield, CA, Catherine of Dallas, TX, 
Ollie Stewart of Las Vegas, NV; two brothers, Obie Jr. and Phillip of 
Bakersfield, CA; two aunts, Fletter Johnson of Bakersfield, CA and Alberta 
McGlory of Oklahoma City, OK; a longtime companion, Johnny Lee Murdock and a 
host of relatives and friends. For additional service information please call
