Agnes Katherine Powell Renfree 
1/24/1917 - 8/2/2005 

Agnes Katherine Powell Renfree, longtime Bakersfield resident, passed away 
Tuesday, August 2, 2005, in Modesto, CA. She was born January 24, 1917, in 
Barstow, CA to Ludlow and Aileen Powell. Agnes was active in the Hospital 
Auxiliary, PTA activities and Casa de Modesto Auxiliary. Agnes is preceded in 
death by her husband, C. John Renfree; parents, Ludlow and Aileen Powell; 
siblings, Mary MacGregor Martin and Bud Powell. Agnes is survived by her son, 
John Renfree and wife, Ann of Santa Rosa; daughter, Marye Martinez and 
husband, Jim of Modesto; 11 grandchildren and 19 great-grandchildren. 
Recitation of the Holy Rosary and Mass of Christian Burial will be held at St. 
Josephs Church Friday, August 5, 2005, at 10:00 a.m. Interment will follow at 
Hillcrest Memorial Park. Father Ricardo Magdaleno will officiate and viewing 
will take place immediately prior to and during the Rosary. Remembrances may 
be sent to Casa De Modesto, Activity Center at 1745 Eldena Way, Modesto, CA 
95350.
