Prejean 1918 - 2005 Memorial services will be held in Greenlawn Memorial Chapel, 3700 River Blvd., Wednesday, April 6, at 3:00 p.m. Ralph was born on December 12, 1918, in Dallas, Texas to parents, Luke and Flora Belle Prejean. He has been a resident of Bakersfield since 1963. Ralph is survived by his wife, Gertrude; five nephews and sister-in-law, Louise. Ralph and Gertrude married in October 1942. He was with Bank of America for 33 years. He retired early, and was a trustee for Greenlawn Mortuary and Cemetery for another ten years. He then started playing duplicate bridge, where he earned title of Life Master, and about 1000 points. At the time Ralph retired from the bank he was Vice President and Trust Officer. Ralph was very active in Civic and Service Organizations. He was Past President of Burlingame 20-30 Club, Bakersfield North Rotary Club, Estate Planning Council of Kern County. He is Past Commander of San Mateo Post- American Legion. He is Past Director of United Fund and numerous charity organizations. Also he is Past Foreman Protem of Kern County Grand Jury. Ralph was an Army veteran serving during World War II. Ralphs bank sponsored many educational events for him. He graduated from the Pacific Coast Banking school at the University of Washington. He graduated from the American Institute of Banking. He attended classes at the University of California at Berkeley, San Francisco, Davis and San Luis Obispo. Ralph also taught Trust classes to local bank executives. We would like to thank Dr. Patrick Daley and his staff and Dr. Z. Gill for the excellent care and work they performed.
