Pauline (Behrends) Smith
Services: Fri., Apr. 22, 11 a.m.

A memorial service will be held for Pauline Smith at Redeemer Lutheran Church, 
2525 Belle Terrace, Bakersfield. 

Pauline was born in Atwood, KS, on February 4, 1923 to Wm. Henry and Amelia 
Ann Priddy.

Pauline married Earl (Whitey) Behrends on December 26, 1945 at his family home 
in Wiota, Iowa. They moved to California where they had a daughter, Carol. A 
job transfer brought them to Bakersfield in 1969. Whitey died in 1988.

She met and married Dennis Smith in 2001 and has been dancing and traveling 
ever since.

Pauline was preceded in death by her parents, three brothers, one sister and 
her husband, Earl.

She is survived by her husband, Dennis; daughter, Carol (Wm.) Yanez of Yucca 
Valley; grandchildren, Brenda (Joe) LaCore of Valencia, Brian Yanez of Redondo 
Beach; great-grandson, Aaron LaCore of Valencia.

In lieu of flowers, donations to Parkinsons Disease Research or Redeemer 
Lutheran Church would be appreciated.
