Quinlan Sr. Visitation: Mon., Dec. 19, 12-9 p.m. A Rosary will be recited at 6:00 p.m., Monday December 19th, at Doughty- Calhoun-O'Meara Mortuary for William Daniel Quinlan Sr., 80, who passed away December 12, 2005. Visitation will be Monday from 12 p.m. until 8 p.m. Bill was born October 22, 1925 in Chicago Illinois. He was a World War II U.S. Navy veteran stationed at the Great Lakes Navel Station. Bill received his Master Degree from St. Louis University School of Social Services. He met and married Magda Quinlan in St. Louis. Missouri in 1952 while attending St. Louis University. They were married 45 years when Magda passed away in November 2000. He began his social work career at Catholic Social Services in San Francisco, CA. After working with them for a few years they moved to Napa, CA where he had an active roll in the organization and development of the Napa County Mental Health Association. In 1964 they moved to Bakersfield where Bill was a Psychiatric Social Worker at Kern County Mental Health Services. Among his many accomplishments was his establishment of his private practice after retirement from Kern County Mental Health Services where he worked with Vietnam Veterans suffering from post traumatic syndrome. Bill is survived by his two daughters, Magdeline; Dierdre and son, Liam; three sons, Michael and wife, Katie and daughters, Stacey and Alex; Paul and wife, Patricia and son, Chris; William Jr. and wife, Hermelinda and son, Hunter. We loved our Dad very much and will miss him, but are happy to know he is resting in peace. The family would like to invite their friends to join them at home following the visitation.
