James R. Ransom was born November 25, 1929, in Eufaula, Oklahoma and died 
peacefully in his sleep November 28, 2005, at 7:35 p.m. He was raised in 
Arvin, California and during his youth worked in the fields in that area. He 
attended Kern County Union High School where he enjoyed football and track. 
After graduation, he served in the Marine Corps. After his honorable discharge 
from the military, he married in 1957. Survivors include his three sons, 
Perry, Bob and Danny; daughters-in-law, Debra, Lynne and Wendy; granddaughter, 
Hayden who brought a lot of joy to her Grandpa in his last days; and by all of 
you, his friends. Memorial services will be held Saturday, December 3, 2005, 
at 11:00 a.m., at Doughty-Calhoun-OMeara Chapel. Pop touched the lives of many 
people in many different ways. Please join us to celebrate his life.
