Wanda Mae Richardson

July 15, 1933 – Feb. 4, 2006

Wanda Mae Richardson was born July 15, 1933 in Radon, Okla., to Charles and 
Lily Barker. She had two brothers and two sisters. Wanda passed away on Feb. 
4, 2006 following a long battle with emphysema and congestive heart failure. 

Wanda lived in Tehachapi for the last 13 years. Some of the pastimes Wanda 
enjoyed included sewing, canning and crocheting. She worked as a dispatcher 
for an ambulance service, as a nurses' assistant and a daycare provider. Wanda 
enjoyed helping others and was a loving person whose heart touched all of 
those with whom she come in contact with. She loved the Lord and her faith was 
an inspiration to those who knew her.

Wanda was preceded by her loving husband, Arval Richardson. Wanda is survived 
by her brother Virgil Barker and his wife Hazel of Fresno; stepson, J.T. 
Richardson of Bakersfield; daughters, Sharron Pitocco and her husband Mike of 
Tehachapi; Sandra Martinez and her husband Pete of Portales, N.M.; son, Harold 
Chancellor and his wife Sandra of Lancaster; nine grandchildren; five great-
grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews. 

A funeral service was held on Thursday, Feb. 9, at the Wood Family Funeral 
Service Chapel. Interment followed at the Tehachapi Public Cemetery, Westside. 
Wood Family Funeral Service handled the arrangements.
