Richardson Mar. 22, 1963 - Sept. 25, 2005 Jef was born in Bakersfield, California on March 22, 1963 to parents Aaron and Shirley Richardson. He was raised in Bakersfield and graduated from North High. After graduating from high school Jef moved to Fresno on a rodeo scholarship and received his B.S. Degree in Agricultural Business at California State University, Fresno in 1990. Jef met his wife, Julie, in 1985, while attending college. They were married on March 23, 1991 and made their home in Clovis where they created two precious little boys, Tyler and Chris. After college Jef received his Pest Control Advisor certification and began his career in Agriculture. Jef worked for Helena Chemical and Britz Fertilizer before realizing his dream of owning his own business. He started his business, CHEM-Green, in which he provided weed abatement to large home builders across the valley. Jef was a proud and active member of the Clovis Elks Lodge for much of his early years. He and Julie traveled frequently as he participated in parliamentary competitions across the valley. Jef very much enjoyed supporting the Elks and their cause for children. An Avid lover of sports, Jef enjoyed watching games and races. He was a passionate Rams Football fan all of his life. Probably his favorite sport was golf. He often golfed with his friends and took every opportunity to watch the big tournaments live. Jef also sponsored many tournaments for various charities. Jef, who was known as Jef with one F was a very social person. There wasnt anyone he would not befriend. Jef valued his friendships and never forgot any of the relationships he made over the years. He enjoyed spending time with friends and family and loved to tell his stories and listen to others. We always said he was Basque by ingestion because he ate and socialized frequently at the local Basque Restaurants and would seek them out wherever he went. He is survived by his wife, Julie of 14 years; his two sons, Tyler Charles, 8, and Christopher Wyatt, 4; in-laws, Charles and Bernice Phillips who were like parents to him; five brothers, Jed of Washington, Aaron, Brydon, Marvin and Mel of Bakersfield and sister, Sara, all from Bakersfield; along with many nieces and nephews. Jef was a very proud person with a big heart who wanted the very best for his family and friends. He will be dearly missed, but is now in a better place. His life was short but his memory will last forever! We love you and look forward to the house you will make for us in Heaven to all be together and share one day. Memorial service will be held at the Easton Presbyterian Church, 5895 S. Elm Ave., on Saturday, October 1, 2005. A Celebration of Jefs life will take place immediately following at the C.P.D.E.S. Hall in Easton. Interment will take place at Clovis Cemetery at a later date. Clovis Funeral Chapel Legacy.com Published in the Bakersfield Californian on 9/29/2005.
