She went to be with our Lord and Savior on November 12, 2005. Karen married her Life Long Love, J.W. (Dub) Jennings on October 1, 1961 in Taft. They shared 44 years of a long and lasting love that stands as a model of love and commitment for their children and all who know them. A loving marriage led by Christ, steeped in Faith and eternal devotion to each other and family. Karen loved life with Dub. A big part of their life was being with the family, especially, the Grandchildren, whom she spoiled as often and completely as possible. She loved being active and there was not an experience or challenge that she was afraid to experience or face in life. Karen enjoyed her professional career working within the library system. Education was very important to her and she loved spreading the message of literacy. She started her Library service as the Librarian for Lincoln Jr. High in Taft where she spent many years working with the children. From there Karen joined the Kern County Library where she served for the last 18 years. She truly loved her co-workers and the patrons of Kern County. She was motivated in life by her faith and love to serve others and enjoyed being of service to those in need. Karen has many dear friends from all aspects of life. She cherished every one of them. She loved the reunions with their many, many friends from First Baptist Church in Taft. Many of those friendships count more than 35 years in length. Her dear friend Pat Osbey always kept a constant smile on Karens face. She enjoyed the preaching & shepherding of Pastor Roger Poppen and the staff at Laurelglen Bible Church and was vigilant in her daily study of the Bible. She was a prayer warrior and cared for others rather than herself, even to the day of her deliverance into Gods arms.
