Edna Marie Moore died peacefully in her sleep in the home she loved on September 27, 2005. She was 94. Born on February 24, 1911 in Indiana, Pennsylvania, Edna moved to Bakersfield in the late 1920s where she met and married her husband of more than fifty years, Harold Moore. Together they built a business empire known as Casa Moore Square. Edna earned her BA at Fresno State University and was an active member of First Presbyterian Church where she was involved in Womens Association and Bible Study Fellowship. She and Harold enjoyed traveling and shared many trips to Europe, the Orient and the Holy Lands. They owned a second home in Hawaii and treasured their time there. Together they contributed to local and worldwide churches including Fellowship of Christian Athletes, Campus Crusade for Christ and the Presbyterian Mission in Yucatan, Mexico. Edna was immensely proud of her two girls. She is survived by her daughters, Dianne Reimer and husband, Ken of Coeur d Alene, Idaho and Suzanne Zingg and husband, Bill of Bakersfield. She also leaves four grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her mother, Sadie Miller; her brother, Arthur Rittenhouse and her husband, Harold. The family would like to offer a special thank you to Jeanne Schamblin of Alternative Care and caregivers, Debbie Hunsucker and Margaret Teeters for their love and devotion to our mother. As the knowledge of man tends to dim, the wisdom of God remains clear. In lieu of flowers, the family is requesting that gifts be made to the memorial Fund at the First Presbyterian Church.
