She learned at an early age what a life of serving God was all about, after all she was the daughter of a Pentecostal minister in rural Arkansas. It was in Arkansas that she met the love of her life, Art Rogers. They were married in 1946, searching for prosperity they headed West to California, first in Salinas, CA, then to Santa Cruz where their first daughter Gwen was born in 1950. They made their way down the central valley to Bakersfield. It was in Bakersfield that they had daughter number two, Stephanie in 1956, a grandson, Chuck in 1967, and daughter number three, Shawna in 1968. Eulene made sure that there was balance in the family, balancing hard work, love for each other and love of God. Serving God came first, sharing the love of God to other people was very important to Eulene. Her sister Bonnie commented that could feel love radiating through your body, the only thing that Eulene had to do was touch your hand. Eulene and Art spent a lot of time ministering with song in many churches in the Kern County area, Seventh Standard Church, Sunshine Church, Pentecostal Tabernacle, and Faith Temple to name a few. She accomplished her lifelong goal of a life full of love, family and friends. She had worked for Southern Pacific Railroad, as a Cosmetologist, as well as working many years helping to run the family business Art Rogers Roofing. But if you asked her what her biggest accomplishment was it was raising a family that cares for others, is sensitive to the needs of other people, and willing to listen when others wont. Art passed away in 1991; after a number of years of longing for companionship; she met a wonderful man, James Bud Cone. Each of them had lost their spouses and God had a plan to provide that longing for companionship, and they were married in 1998. Eulene will be missed by many, there are some people that make a positive impact on people when they meet them, and Eulene was definitely one of those people. We will all miss her contagious one of a kind laugh, soft touch, generous nature and calling everyone by the name baby, because she made you feel like she was your mother, even if she wasnt. Eulene was preceded in death by her husband, Art Rogers; husband, James Bud Cone; her mother, Bonnie Hudson; and father, Clyde Hudson. She was also preceded in death by her beloved daughter, Gwen Loveless. Eulene is survived by her daughter, Stephanie Rogers; daughter, Shawna Cavazos; son-in-law, Rocky Cavazos; grandsons, Chuck Rogers and wife, Leah Rogers and Dylan Cavazos; granddaughter, Haley Cavazos and great-grandchildren, Jillian and Jessica Rogers; sister, Bonnie Smith and husband, John; brother, Jay Hudson and wife, Avis.
