She met and married Andrew Leshko settling in Bakersfield, California, where for the rest of her life she had been a resident in the community of Kern County. Doris had worked at Jefferson Elementary School, retiring as very honorable 2nd grade school teacher holding many awards for her great and loving talent. Even though Doris never became a mother herself, she played a large part of being a mother in the many hearts that knew her. Doris loved life and meeting people. She would always say, Never go old, and if she was only 20 years younger she would give you a run for your money! Doris left this life on October 3, 2005, here in Bakersfield, California to join her husband, Andy. Doris is survived by her adopted family, Rene and Tina Ochoa, his children, Armando and Vanessa. Butch and Belinda Bradford, their children, Fuzzy, Tatum, Ashley, Breana, Caitlyn, Kody, Jansen and Bryan. Bob and Colleen Bivens, their children, Brock, Tori and Sidney. Ken and Nina Knight, her children, Kareina, Tiffany, Jacob Ruth, and Bob Bivens Sr. And all the many friends and neighbors that had acquired her love and friendship. With her time being here, she had been present at many family gatherings and functions of all the children. Sharing and spending as much time as she could with others. She will be loved and missed by all. The family gives a special thanks to all the ladies and the wonderful staff at the Westchester home, who loved and cared for such a wonderful lady as if she was their own mother. And a special thanks to Bob Jr. for helping her with everything. As per Doris's personal request, no services will be held. She would love folks to remember one of her most favorite expressions.
