Ellen was beloved wife, mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, niece, cousin and friend. She was predeceased by her parents, brother Ronnie and brother-in-law Manuel Gill. She is survived by her loving husband, Greg; children, Michael and Darin Lawrence and Kimberly Gill; grandchildren, Brett, Breanna, Nicole, Bailey and Brooke Lawrence; sisters,JoAnn(husband, John) Jones and Linda Underwood and their families; sisters-in-law, Deanna Rubiy and Janine (husband, Kevin) Johnson and their families, brothers-in-law, Gary, Michael and Kevin Gill and their families, mother and father-in-law, Manuel and Janet Gill, together with numerous aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins and friends too numerous to count or list. Ellen was a 1968 graduate of Foothill High School and lived in East Bakersfield all of her life. She worked in the banking industry since age 18; her latest position working beside her husband at Tri-Counties Bank. Some of Ellen's greatest interests were spending time with family and friends cruising the oceans blue, attending NASCAR racing events, vacationing at Pismo Beach, and playing cards. She enjoyed raising pigs with her husband for grandchildren and students to show and sell at the K. C. Fair. She participated in the K. C. Cancer Society Relay for Life event since 1997 and she was an avid fan of "Days of Our Lives." In lieu of flowers, the family wishes donations be made to the American Cancer Society Relay for Life Banking on a Cure Team,1523 California Ave.,Bakersfield, CA 93304in Ellen's name. Pallbearers are Gary, Kevin and Michael Gill, Kevin Johnson, Jason and John Jones, Alfred Montes and Delbert Mooney. Visitation Sunday, January 29, 2006, 9:00 a.m.-5:00 p.m., at Mission Funeral Home, 531 California Ave. at 'S' St., Bakersfield, CA. Mass of Christian burial Monday, January 30, 2006, 10:00 a.m. at St. Joseph's Church, 1515 Baker Street, Bakersfield, CA. Graveside service to follow at Hillcrest Memorial Park, 9101 Kern Canyon Road, Bakersfield, CA. Celebrant: Rev. Fr. Ricardo D. Magdaleno.
