WORRY ABOUT AUTO PAYMENTS CAUSES DEATH OF MAN

Financial Troubles Hasten Demise of Widower With Three Children

The remains of the late T. T. Russell, who is said to have died from an illness
which was caused by grief over his failure to meet payments on an automobile
which he had purchased, were laid to rest in Union cemetery this morning
following funeral services which were held from Dixon & Flickinger's chapel at
9:30 o'clock. Several months ago, according to a statement that has been given
out by members of the family of the deceased, Mr. Russell purchased an
automobile, and after paying out $400, found that he was unable to keep up the
payments and provide a living for himself and three children. When he lost the
machine, his grief was so great that he was stricken ill, and his condition grew
gradually more serious until the end came Monday. About two months ago,
Russell's wife died, leaving him with three children. The expense of his wife's
illness and death, together with the additional household expenses made
necessary for the care of his youngsters, made his struggle to keep his accounts
balanced an unusually difficult one. A pathetic feature of the funeral services
was the attendance this morning of the three orphaned children. The loss of both
their father and mother within a period of two months has made their grief
almost unbearable, friends of the family have tried to comfort the children, but
they are finding it exceedingly difficult, to become reconciled to their great
bereavement.
