Leonard S. Ratliff, II 
8/23/1933 - 7/14/2005 

A graveside service will be conducted by Peters Funeral Home for Leonard S. 
Ratliff, II, age 71, on Monday, July 18, 2005, at 12 noon, at Shafter Memorial 
Park. Reverend Rod Tidwell of Teen Challenge will officiate at the service. 
Leonard was born in Sunset, Texas, to Leonard and Willie Belle Ratliff. He 
moved to Lamont in 1943, and then moved to California City where he lived for 
35 years. He married Louella Babb on November 29, 1958, in Denair, CA, at the 
time of their marriage Leonard was employed by Rockwell-Lockheed. He 
eventually went to work for US Borax in Boron where he was the head 
superintendent. He had recently moved to Shafter due to his health to be near 
his youngest son, Larry. Leonard is survived by his wife, Louella; sons, 
Leonard S. Ratliff, III of Buckinghamshire, England, and Larry and wife, Julia 
Ratliff of Shafter; daughters, LoRee and husband, Greg Feltz of Utah and 
Lynette and husband, Brett Dixon of Idaho; brother, William Ratliff; sisters, 
Alice Riesgo, Opal Moore, Marie King and Linda Stone; 9 grandchildren, 1 great 
grandchildren.
