Vernon Ave., 7:00 p.m. Graveside services will take place at Hillcrest Memorial Park on Saturday, May 7, at 10:00 a.m. Senior Pastor Paul Blatto will officiate. Also presiding will be Senior Pastor Elias Duarte. Alfonso was born April 22, 1924, in Santa Paula, CA. At the age of 17 he joined the State Guard. Years later, he met and married the love of his life, Trini. They moved to Lamont in 1950 where he built their first home. Before working as a farm equipment operator he was employed by Southern Pacific Railroad. He was a man who never knew the word retirement. For the past several years he worked part-time through a senior citizen program. He was preceded in death by parents, Luz and Adela Rea; sister, Betty Cervantes and son-in-law, Cristobal Guerrero. He is survived by his loving wife of 61 years, Trini; daughters, Mary Guerrero, Amy Adame, Rosie and Tony Saldana, Linda and Dennis Barth, Christy and Rick Moreno; sons, Alfonso Jr. and Mitzi Rea and Danny Rea; sisters, Lucy Marrufo, Connie Pena and Louise Lugo. Grandpa Al was adored by all his grandchildren, great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews. Al loved the Lord and was a member of the Apostolic Tabernacle Church in Lamont. He enjoyed the ocean, fishing, the company of his family, and his best friend Husky. He will be remembered as a hard-working, family man, with a great sense of humor who was well respected by all who knew him.
