Wilma Jean Rexius Wilkins 
6/15/1932 - 8/10/2005 

A graveside service will be conducted for Wilma Jean Wilkins, age 73, on 
Tuesday, August 16, 2005, at 10:00 a.m., at Shafter Memorial Park. Pastor Pat 
Coyle of the Shafter Mennonite Brethren Church will officiate at the service. 
Wilma was born in Shafter to Jacob and Katie Rexius. She married John Wilkins 
on May 9, 1959, in Carson City, Nevada. She loved her two sons, Billy Thompson 
and Mark Wilkins. She was a Shafter icon often seen walking from her home to 
down town Shafter, with her walker with a seat combo. She had a tendency to 
always see the good in life and rarely did you see her without her ear to ear 
smile. She was preceded in death by her husband, John (March 11, 1991); and 
son, Billy Thompson; 3 brothers and 2 sisters. She is survived by her son, 
Mark Wilkins of Bakersfield; sisters, Rosie and husband, Neal Anderson and 
Ruby Reeves all of Bakersfield.
