Visitation will be held Saturday, June 11th and Sunday, June 12th, at Peters Funeral Home, in Wasco. Rev. Gary Anderson of Wasco Christ Community Church will officiate and interment will follow. Our Dad went home to be with the Lord on June 8, 2005, after a lengthy illness. Jerry was born on January 20, 1938, in Odessa, Texas, to J.D. and Mildred Rhea. He was raised in Lemoore, CA and was the oldest of five sons. Jerry and Neva Rhea came to Wasco in 1958 to raise their children. They attended the Church of Christ. Jerry worked for Martins Electric and then started his own business, Jerrys Appliance. In 1979, he went to work for Paramount Farms where he was employed until his death. Jerry served in the National Guard. He was a member of the Wasco/Shafter Elks. Jerry helped establish Wasco Little League program, which he loved coaching and playing ball with his son and friends. Jerry loved the beach, camping with his children and grandchildren. He loved Hawaii which he visited many times. He loved to watch the sunsets. He loved visiting cousins in Texas. Christmas was Jerrys favorite holiday. Jerry is preceded in death by his father, J.D. Rhea and brother, Bobby Rhea. He leaves behind his wife, Maria of 11 years; mother, Mildred of Hanford; brothers, Warren Rhea and wife, Carol of Reno, NV, Don Rhea and wife, Pam of Redlands, CA and Ron Rhea of Santa Maria. Jerry is also survived by his 3 children: his daughters, Cheryl Bradford and companion, Gail Spanel; son, Kevin Rhea and wife, Sandy; daughter, Trisha Caton and companion, Tery Courtright; 4 grandchildren; 4 great-grandchildren and numerous family members.
