Thomas Rivers was born in South Carolina and had lived in Bakersfield for the last 30 years. Thomas was a Navy Veteran of the Korean War. He loved our country and the freedoms that so many have fought and died for. He was a member of the Oildale First Missionary Baptist Church since 1976. He was a Machinist for 50 years. He was preceded in death by his wife of 48 years, Alma Rivers. He is survived by two sons, Ivan Rivers and Michael Rivers and wife, Melanie; his three daughters, Kathy Allison and husband, Robert, Marla Johnson, and Sara Dixon and husband, James; plus 19 grandchildren and 2 great-grandchildren. He is also survived by his brother, Bill Rivers and wife, Helen; his sister, Susie Booker and husband, Ed; his in-laws, Jim and Becky Jischke, David and Lee Jischke and Nancy Shirley.
