He graduated from Santa Monica High and attended Santa Monica City College. He played golf on his high school golf team and at one time was a scratch player. Throughout his life he carried a grand passion for the game, no doubt whetted as a youth caddying at Riviera Country Club. In 1970, he married Alice Montgomery in Santa Monica; they had one child, a daughter, Amy, whom Robbie dearly loved and was very proud of. In the early 70s Robbie and Alice moved to Bakersfield where he worked with his father in the roofing business; later venturing out with his own successful company, Tri- County Roofing. Aside from a zeal for golf, Robbie had a real fondness for fishing and food. As to the foodhe prided himself in knowing the best eating places from Eureka, CA to Baja, Mexico. Robbie was community conscious supporting and contributing to many local endeavors. He was honored as Light Brigade Man of the Year at the B.C. foundations 1996 Hot Stove Dinner and a Bakersfield College baseball team fundraiser. At 67 Big Robbie presented a commanding presence. A smile that matched his stature accompanied his persona. A whimsical twinkle of mischief always gleaming in his eye. All tended by an ever-present positive attitude. His desire for those around him to have as much fun as he was having. His personal motto was: Fun isnt worth having until you have it! All the well worn clichés describe him: One of a kind, a diamond in the rough, they threw the mold away, but nothing says it better than BIG ROBBIE. Marvin Ted Robinson, Absent from the body and face to face with the Lord. Robbie is survived by his wife, Alice; his daughter and son-in-law, Amy and Kyle Leask; brother, Bob Robinson; and numerous nieces and nephews.
