Jack J. Rosen 
March 1, 1918 - August 24, 2005 

Jack J. Rosen, passed away Wednesday, August 24, 2005. He was 87 years old and 
had lived for nearly 40 years in San Leandro, CA with his wife of 40 years, 
Dorothy Rosen. They had moved a year ago to an assisted living center in 
Southern California where they could be closer to family. Jack was born in 
Toronto, Canada and immigrated to Bakersfield in 1945 were he married Anita 
Bowman. They had two sons, Dale and Loren. Jack lived in Bakersfield until 
1963. He was a prominent member of Bnai Jacob and an Elk. He managed Jim 
Clintons Clothing and the mens department of Fedway on Chester Avenue. Jack 
had a long career in men's clothing sales and tailoring. His last thirteen 
years of sales was with the Mens Wearhouse and he was featured in many 
commercials for the Mens Wearhouse in the 1990s as the old tailor. He is 
survived by his wife, Dorothy; his sons, Dale Rosen (Alameda, CA) and Loren 
Rosen (Orting, WA), stepson, Sheldon Past (Pacifica, CA); stepdaughter, 
Beverly Fleischer (Tarzana, CA); eight grandchildren and two great-
grandchildren (coming soon). Services and internment were in Jewish tradition 
on Friday, August 26th at Mount Sinai Memorial Simi Valley, CA.
