All rights reserved. http://www.usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm http://www.usgwarchives.net/ca/cafiles.htm ************************************************ File contributed for use in USGenWeb Archives by: K T bluewolf@onemain.com October 12, 2005, 1:24 am The Bakersfield Californian Sampson, Peggy Pauline "Bern" 1926 - 2005 Peggy Pauline Sampson Bern Sept. 11, 1926 - Oct. 8, 2005 Visitation for Peggy Pauline Sampson Bern will be held at Basham Funeral Care (3312 Niles Street) on Tuesday, October 11, 2005 from 5:00-8:00 p.m. Funeral services will be held in the Basham Funeral Care Chapel on Wednesday morning, October 12, 2005 at 11:00 a.m. Peggy was born in Wichita Falls, Texas on September 11, 1926 to parents, VanBuren Sampson and Della Rose Smith and she passed away October 8, 2005 in Bakersfield, California with her family by her bedside. She grew up in Denver, Colorado and moved to Bakersfield in 1952 where she met and married Bill Bern. Peggy is survived by her loving husband of 36 years, Bill Bern; daughters and sons-in-law, Nancy and Bob Marshall and Sue and Vito Giuntoli; grandchildren, Robert Marshall, Mellanie Marshall, Denice Giuntoli, (Vito) Frank and Patricia Giuntoli, Peggy Runyan, Karen Marshall, Martin and Stella Giuntoli, Ken and Shannon Osborne, Graham and Brenda Helston and Nick Giuntoli; 27 great-grandchildren; 3 great-great- grandchildren as well as numerous other family members and friends. Peggy was a loving mother, grandmother and a good friend to all. We will all miss her deeply. Our deepest gratitude to Marty and Stella Giuntoli and to Optimal Hospice for everything they have done. After the service, a gathering will be held at the residence of Frank and Patricia Giuntoli at 8808 Butternut Street.
