Interment will follow at Greenlawn Southwest Cemetery. Guido was born July 1, 1917 in Bakersfield, CA to Ben and Linda Sandrini. He attended Panama Elementary School and Kern County Union High School. Guido was involved in the family dairy and farm business until he was drafted October 23, 1941. He spent three years participating in the Iran, Tunisian Campaigns in Africa. From there he went on to the Italian campaign. He received several medals including three Bronze Battle Stars and a Purple Heart. Returning home, via an honorable discharge in 1944, he went back into the dairy and farming business with his brothers, Adolph and Bruno. Guido married Carolina Fachin in 1947 and they had two children, William and Selinda. Years later he began his own independent farming business, which he continued until his retirement in 1985. After retiring he found one of the loves of his life golf. He was transformed from one who thought the game was silly to one who was on the green several times a week with many of his farming friends. Guido was a member of Sacred Heart Church, American Legion Post #26, Veterans of Foreign Wars, Disabled American Veterans and the Military Order of Purple Heart. Guido is survived by his wife of 58 years, Carolina; son, Bill and wife, Camilla; stepgrandchildren, Christopher Rossetto, Jennifer Burrows, Veronica and Avery Palla; daughter, Selinda Shontz and husband, Brian and granddaughters, Amy and Hillary. Also surviving are sisters, Inez Chapelle and Savina Powell and brother, Bruno Sandrini along with many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his brother, Adolph and sister, Enice Allec. Our family would like to give a very special thank you to our wonderful and caring caregivers, Wendy and Betty. Your loving and caring nature made such a difference in Dads life and all of ours. Thank you from the bottom of our hearts. We also want to thank Dr. Nick Hansa, Karen and Tracy for all the wonderful care and help you gave Guido over the years. You are the best. Thanks also to Holly, Myrna and all the nurses at Station One at Glenwood Gardens Skilled Nursing and the wonderful people at Hoffmann Hospice. You were all so caring and patient and made Guidos last days so much more comfortable for him and our family. Pallbearers will be Robert, Louis, Bryon and Tom Sandrini, Richard Allec and Jimmy Bugni. Honorary pallbearers will be Richard Banducci, Livio Palla, Tony Liguoure, Bob Whinnery, Gary, Larry and Danny Fachin, Paul and Joe Bugni and Sam Restituto. In lieu of flowers, please make donations to Hoffmann Hospice or Sacred Heart Church.
